Hello everyone! I thought I would organize a few things over here for those of you who want to know more about the world of Superstuck, as well as who’s involved here. If there’s any questions not answered here that you would like me to add, send me an ask with [FAQ] at the beginning and I’ll see what I can do about answering it! Btw, this blog is run by marzichan.
First off, here are the official participants so far:
The Tailorbird (Dirk Strider)
Otto Strider (Dirk Strider’s Auto-Responder/Brobot/Lil’ Seb)
Anarchy Goddess (Vriska Serket)
The Gatekeeper (Alternate Future Dave Strider)
Gamzee Makara
Giggling Gumdrop (Jane Crocker)
Evilbuster (John Egbert)
Tipsy Gambit (Roxy Lalonde)
Team Avengers (Sollux Captor)
Feferi Peixes
Gallant Tempest (Alternate Future John Egbert)
Dave Strider
Bro Strider (Alternate Future Dirk Strider)
Whimsical Void (Wayward Vagabond)
Galacti Gal (Alternate Future Jade Harley)
Homestuck has a large varied cast. Are there trolls, carapaces, etc., in Superstuck?
The short answer to that is no!
Everyone is human — or at least was at some point — although obviously there are some exceptions. Otto is a robot, not human, and if someone wanted to join in as Casey the salamander I wouldn’t expect them to humanize her. However, since this is an alternate version of Earth where both superheros and supervillains are common, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that there could still be an alien-looking character. That depends on whatever the roleplayer wants their origin story to be! But as general races, no.
How do you decide on superhero/supervillain names?
The process we’ve been using so far involves basing them off their chat client handles. General Terror is GT, The Tailorbird is TT, Anarchy Goddess is AG, so you see how this goes! It’s an interesting challenge, and some characters are probably harder to pin down than others. Characters who don’t follow this guideline are henchmen and general citizens. They just have regular names.
What city does General Terror and his crew live in?
He is currently based out of Skaiopolis. Other known large cities include Prospittsburgh, Dersity, and Sburbia.
Are there any rules to what kind of superpowers a character can have?
Try not to make them overpowered! I understand this is hard or nearly impossible for some characters *coughLordEnglishcough* but a good roleplayer can still make it work. Don’t godmod, etc., that sort of thing. As for what the powers actually are, I think it works best when you base them off of something the character likes, is good at, or is generally known for. For example, Anarchy Goddess can control people’s minds if they are weak or sufficiently distracted enough.
How can I join?
Actually, applications are closed*. Thank you for your interest!
Why are some posts tagged as “noncanon”?
This is pretty self explanatory! Posts with that tag won’t be counted in the memories and mindsets of the characters involved. Generally this happens when I get an ask that I want to write a ficlet about, because usually stuff happens in those ficlets that wouldn’t jive well with the main timeline… or because I’m indulging in a pairing. xD
Can I draw fanart/write fanfics/sculpt a life-size statue of General Terror out of white chocolate?
I am not sure how great an idea that last one is, but sure! Most definitely. You have no idea how happy it makes me that anyone would even want to. So run wild! All I ask is that you find a way to link me to your work so I can enjoy it with you, hehe. uwu <3
How can I contact you?
Feel free to send me an ask, for starters! Just include parentheses at the beginning and ending of your message, and I’ll answer it privately and OOC. Of course, this means you can’t send an OOC question anon! But don’t be shy. I don’t answer OOC asks publicly, so your identity will stay safe and secret with me.
Since Tumblr can be a butt about putting links in asks, feel free to just put a link in my submit box if there’s something you want me to see. That way you can share fanart or fanfics with me without worrying that Tumblr will eat the ask. Just specify it’s something you want to bring to my attention and not an actual submission.
I DO have msn, but I would prefer not to post it here. If you start talking to me OOC through asks, though, we can exchange information there!
Why is there an asterisk next to the word “closed” up there?
We’re still looking for a beta Rose Lalonde, so contact me if you’re interested in fitting into the beta timeline back-story.
If I’m a rp blog that is not part of the AU, can I still interact with Superstuck characters?
Yes, you can! But understand that any interactions between your rp character and our group will be treated and considered noncanon in our Superstuck shenanigans!
